warum? | why? 12 of 12

Warum tun Menschen so etwas? Warum also? Und wer?
Why do people threaten other people's life like that? In June, when animals, insects and plants are in full growth, after midnight when most humans are asleep? We could hardly wake our friend in the neighborhood, this hill where the second fire was started lies just some yards from his house. The first arson happened before as huge parts of the field in the back were already in flames when the hill was still extinguishable by some neighbors. The small house of an elderly American woman could only be saved thanks to huge efforts of the fire brigade, she nearly went mad as the flames were just a few steps away from her home. Due to the westerly wind the house of the chief inspector of the local fire station also was threatened. I do hope, that finally something will happen with those criminals and/or pyromaniacs who do so much damage, we had way too many fires around here this year.

So viel Zerstörung. | So much damage.

Zur Entschuldigung gab's ein paar Stunden später diese Rose (aus Nachbars Garten ;-) | Junior brought this rose (from neighbor's garden ;-) as a "sorry" after long and nasty discussions about his time-allowance with his "electronic companion".

| Somehow we lost our astonishment about this plant (Gunnera manicata, Giant rhubarb) which grows in so many places. It is even considered as an invasive species from Chile in some parts of Ireland. Visiting friends find it amazing.

| They remind us of our own fascination for the giant herb.

Grün pur unter einem Blatt. | The purest green below those leaves.

Zur Zeit blühen die wilden Orchideen (Fuchs' Knabenkraut, Dactylorhiza fuchsii) im Versteck des Grases. | I love the spotted orchids Dactylorhiza fuchsii hidden in the meadows.

Some more impressions for Chad Darnell who created 12 of 12.

Lance hat eine Unterredung mit einer Besucher-Katze. | Lance has some interesting meeting with a stray cat.

| In the garden of a friend who collects buoys.

Kleine Kunstwerke. | Real pieces of art, he even has one which was gilded.

| He found this cheap on the market, probably the lid of something, really well done.

| Samples of velvet, pics taken just to have 12 today as my work of painting the guest room did not advance too much so I cannot show it.

Great 12. That giant rhubarb is amazing. I've got a corner in my back yard that could really use one of those. Do the orchids grow wild in the meadow? Lovely.

Yikes, that rhubarb is huge!! I like the garden with the buoys too, nice little hobby, a bit different!

(I was horrendously late putting my 12 of 12 up, but they are now. I held off on commenting so that people knew when I left a comment, my own was up - the only way I could think of to let people know when I posted!)
